Scammers in Canada purchased at least 24 iPad 2s from several retailers, replaced the tablets with clay replicas, and returned them in sealed boxes. The retailers sold the apparently unopened iPads to consumers, leading electronics stores Future Shop and Best Buy to launch investigations and revamp their return policies. Presumably, the “paperweight” app on the clay tablets was effective.
